Last night I cleaned out my closet, organized everything from my shoes to sports bras. I donated anything that I haven't worn in a year and anything that doesn't fit. Some lucky folks in NH are going to be enjoying a lot of Michigan State gear and even more J.Crew pieces. I filled 6 trash bags! I have to say a lot of clothes held a lot of sentimental value, it was actually a little more difficult to get rid of that stuff than I had anticipated. Honestly though, does someone really need 50 t-shirts and 20 pairs of jeans? I only wear jeans 2 days a week, no I take that back, I only have the opportunity to wear jeans 2 days a week and even then I am most likely in sweats! My closet seems empty now. Like it's not getting the love now. My wardrobe needed to be up lifted anyways. It's a good thing, defnitely teaches me to be even pickier when shopping for clothing. Although, I haven't been shopping in awhile, I still need to be a smarter shopper. I feel myself turning in a cheap ass. Anyway, the entire experience was very liberating and only a little bit depressing. The hardest item to give up without a doubt were my BCBG brown leather stilettos that I always had so many compliments on. Those heels have been through everything with me. There were one of the first pair of heels I ever purchased! They were the shoes that you could throw on with anything, dress them up and dress them down. I'm truly a little bit worried I'll never find a pair quite like them again. Sadly though, they were worn out almost through the sole completely. The leather was starting to peel...they were too far gone for repairs. It's time for a replacement pair...maybe I'll have some money by March!
